Caribbean Recipes -- Drinks

MINDY'S LUCIAN TEMPTATION
  • 2 oz white rum
  • 2 oz Baron Mango Juice Concentrate
  • 2 oz orange juice
  • 2 oz soda water
Mix all ingredients. Stir. Add cracked ice. Serve with twist of lime and grated fresh nutmeg.

NUTMEG DELIGHT (alcohol-free)
  • 2 oz Morne Délice Nutmeg Syrup
  • 6 oz club soda
  • 1 lemon slice
  • fresh nutmeg, grated
Mix nutmeg syrup and club soda. Add cracked ice. Top with grated nutmeg. Serve with a slice of lemon.

BLOODY JERK
  • 1 jigger vodka
  • 8 oz V8 juice
  • 1/4 tsp horseradish
  • 1/2 tsp Walker's Wood One Stop Jerk Sauce
  • 1/4 tsp Walker's Wood Jonkanoo Hot Pepper Sauce
  • 1 stalk spring onion, trimmed at both ends
Pour vodka over ice, add rest of ingredients. Use the spring onion as garnish

TI PUNCH
  • 2 oz "Strong" rum (preferably La Mauny, or St. Lucian)
  • 2 oz sugar cane syrup (or pre-mixed sucrose syrup)
  • 2 oz water
  • 1/4 to 1/2 lime, juiced
This staple drink of the Windwards can be shaken or stirred. Our rule of thumb for Ti Punch (pronounced: Tee Ponch) is NO MORE THAN TWO! Three in a fairly short period can leave you towering over completely disconnected feet, so be careful with this stuff! The sugar makes the alcohol go to the brain more efficiently, or something, and the alcohol is 160-180 proof to begin with. But we don't know of a finer "sipping" drink.
Mix ingredients. Add ice or pour into a glass of ice and serve.

PAIN KILLER
  • 2 oz dark rum
  • 1 oz orange juice
  • 1 oz coconut rum or creme de coco
  • 4 oz pineapple juice
  • fresh nutmeg, grated
This delicious drink from Tortola is very appropriately named. We also make them by the pitcher-full, using the same proportions.
Mix ingredients. Add ice and serve with freshly grated nutmeg on top.
